Historic January 20

We just watched Obama's inauguration on crystal clear CNN by satellite from here in Malawi.

This morning at the nursery school teacher training we took a group picture. Students made a sign that said "We can do it! January 20, 2009" to hold up in the picture. The motto is a good one for this group which is setting out to establish an enterprise that will support a lot of women in their quest for education and provide a wonderful learning experience for many children.

It's been a day that I won't forget.

The reason we are all lined up so closely is that it was pouring rain and we were trying to stay dry and at the same time be in enough light to make a good picture. The photographer was balancing an umbrella and the camera!
